Sveti Vlas (also known as St. Vlas) is a beautiful coastal village of approx. 3000 inhabitants, situated just 5 kilometers north of Sunny Beach and 9 km from Nessebar. Saint Vlas is 25 minutes from Bourgas and around 1 hour from Varna International Airports.
A settlement was founded in the 2nd century AD by Thracians and Greeks, then called Larissa. It acquired the name Sveti Vlas in the 14th century after Saint Blaise, a monastery dedicated to whom existed in the region, but was burnt down in the 14th-18th century by consecutive pirate raids.
This magnificent resort is a great combination of beautiful seaside at the foot of the Balkan mountain range.
